How To Export Sniffy Data Files For Mac

-->

Original KB number: 2649169

Stata for Windows, Mac, and Linux can now directly import data and export data and results to Microsoft Excel files. Both Excel 1997/2003 (.xls) files and Excel 2007/2010/2013/2016 (.xlsx) files are supported. When I click on the file a message appears that there is nothing in the Outlook Backup file. This seem strange considering the OLM file was about 6GB. The other frustrating part is that during the initial export process when creating the OLM file I wasn't given any option to be able to export the individual mail folders that I had previously. Migration Assistant copies all of your files from your old Mac to your new Mac so that you don't have to copy them manually. If your files are currently on a PC, follow the PC migration steps instead. If you're moving content from a Time Machine backup, follow the steps to restore your Mac from a backup instead.

Summary

Consider the following scenario:

You try to transfer data from Outlook 2016 for Mac or Outlook for Mac 2011, such as email and contacts, to Outlook for Windows. To do this, you try to import the .olm file that was exported from Outlook for Mac. However, you receive the following error in Outlook for Windows:

The file <path>.olm is not an Outlook data file (.pst).

More information

Microsoft Outlook for Windows doesn't support .olm data files. However, there are several methods that you can use to transfer data from Outlook for Mac to a Windows-based Outlook client. These methods require that you use Microsoft Exchange Server.

Synchronize data with Microsoft Exchange Server

If the data is available in a mailbox that is located on an Exchange Server, the Outlook for Windows client can access the data. To do this, the Windows client connects to the Exchange Server by using either Cached Exchange Mode or Online mode.
