The Best of Branigan was released on June 6, 1995 and was the first greatest hits collection of singer Laura Branigan that was issued in the United States. This album also marked the end of Branigan's relationship with her record label, Atlantic Records. Only eight of the thirteen tracks on this anthology had charted, although it did include several of her major hit singles, such as 'Gloria', 'Solitaire', 'Self Control', 'Power of Love', and 'How Am I Supposed to Live Without You'.

Other tracks on this anthology were songs from her previous album, 1993's Over My Heart, a product overlooked by much of the music industry and the public, which at the time was interested in grunge music.

The album included two new tracks, 'Show Me Heaven' and a cover of Donna Summer's 'Dim All the Lights', the latter which was released as a single in late spring 1995 and became a Billboard Top 40 Dance hit.

Branigan

While Best of Branigan was the first anthology of Branigan's hits that was released in the United States, the singer had at that point released other greatest hits anthologies in several countries, including South Africa, Japan, and Germany.

Laura Branigan (July 3, 1957 – August 26, 2004) was an American singer and actress of Irish ancestry. She was best known for her platinum album 'Self Control', which was her all-time biggest seller with the title track becoming an international smash. 'Laura Branigan' is the sixth album by singer Laura Branigan, released in 1990. The album's second single, 'Never In A Million Years', was an AC hit for Branigan. The album also brought the singer back to the tops of the Hi-NRG charts and dancefloors with its first single, 'Moonlight On Water', and a trendy update of Vicki Sue Robinson's disco-era.
